  Academician Raul V. Fabella is National ScientistAcademician Raul V. Fabella, an outstanding economist, is the newest to join the esteemed group of National Scientists in the country. The Order of National Scientist is the highest honor that the Philippine Government can bestow on a Filipino scientist for his or her outstanding contributions to science and technology. Dr. Fabella is recognized for his pioneering works on novel analytic constructs which turn out to be useful for problems in economics. His introduction of subsymmetric sets resulted in extending the reach of the celebrated Nash bargaining solution to more egalitarian (Rawlsian) grounds. He also proposed the Olson ratio which enriches the rent-seeking paradigm, and derived and applied the debt-adjusted real exchange rate which enlarges the pool of relevant indicators for exchange rate policy. |
